North Torrance Little League (NTLL) is a chartered league governed by the published rules and regulations of Little League Baseball Incorporated. As such, NTLL operates under the guiding principle of developing Character, Courage, and Loyalty.

BOARD POSITION INFORMATION

PRESIDENT

The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of NTLL and shall, subject to the control of the Board of Directors, have general supervision, directions, and control of the business affairs of NTLL
 

VICE PRESIDENT

In the absence of the President, the Vice President shall perform all duties of the President, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of, and be subject to, all the restrictions upon the President.  Perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Board of Directors or by the President.  Shall coordinate with the School District and City the practice permits for the fields and permits for banners.

 

SECRETARY
The Secretary shall keep, or cause to be kept, a book of minutes of all the meetings of the Board of Directors, with the time and place of holding, whether general or special.  The Secretary shall be responsible to send all communication out to the general membership.  The Secretary is responsible for the Board election and counting on ballots.


TREASURER
The Treasurer shall receive all monies and funds and keep records for the receipt and disbursement of same.  The Treasurer shall generate the annual budget for Board approval.  Also responsible for making all payments as necessary from allotted funds.  Provided financial reports to the Board and manages all accounting functions.

 

REGISTRAR
The Registrar shall conduct and coordinate all aspects of the registration process, including signup of all player candidates as directed by the Board.  The Registrar shall follow-up with player/parents to ensure all required documents have been received to establish eligibility for draft and team selection. 


INFORMATION OFFICER
The Information Officer shall manage the online registration process and ensure that league rosters are maintained on the site.  Assign administrative rights to league volunteers and teams.  Ensure that league news and scores are updated on a regular basis.
Collect, post and distribute important information on League activities including direct dissemination of fund-raising and sponsor activities to Little League International, district, public, league members and media.  Serve as primary contact person for Little League regarding optimizing use of the Internet for league administration and for distributing information to league members and to Little League International.


PLAYER AGENT MAJOR/MINOR
The Major/Minor/Farm Player Agent shall record all player transactions and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record thereof.  Receive and review applications for player candidates and assist the President in verifying residence and age eligibility.  Conduct the tryouts, the player draft and all other player transaction or selection meetings.  Prepare the Player Agent’s list. Prepare for the President’s signature and submission to Little League International, team rosters, including players’ claimed, and the tournament team eligibility affidavit. (Junior – Major/Minor ONLY)
Notify Little League International of any subsequent player replacements or trades. (Major/Minor ONLY)

TBALL/ROOKIE PLAYER AGENT
The Tball/Rookie Player Agent shall with the help of the Major/Minor/Farm Player Agent, form the Tball and Rookie Teams.  Shall help in the recruitment of Managers for the both divisions and help guide the divisions through the season.

JUNIOR PLAYER AGENT
The Junior Player Agent shall help in the recruitment of players and managers for the division.  Prepare for the President’s signature and submission to Little League International, team rosters, including players’ claimed, and the tournament team eligibility affidavit.


SNACK BAR MANAGER
The Snack Bar Manager shall be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the snack bar during the NTLL season and any post season tournaments.  The Snack Bar Manager shall be responsible to oversee the Snack Bar Coordinator and scheduling of parent and teen work shifts.
 

EQUIPMENT MANAGER/SAFETY COORDINATOR
Coordinate purchase of all player equipment.  Present Board with budget for equipment needs, evaluate condition of equipment for replacement, determine need for uniform replacement, and ensure best acquisition costs for all equipment.  Also must distribute and coordinate return of all equipment and uniforms each year.

The Safety Officer is (a) responsible to create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for youngsters and all participants of Little League Baseball.(b) Develop and implement a plan for increasing safety of activities, equipment and facilities through education, compliance and reporting.  NOTE: In order to implement a safety plan using education, compliance and reporting, the following suggestions may be utilized by the Safety Officer: (1) Education - Should facilitate meetings and distribute information among participants including players, managers, coaches, umpires, league officials, parents, guardians and other volunteers. (2) Compliance - Should promote safety compliance leadership by increasing awareness of the safety opportunities that arise from these responsibilities. (3) Reporting - Define a process to assure that incidents are recorded, information is sent to league/district and national offices, and follow-up information on medical and other data is forwarded as available.

SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR
The Sponsorship Coordinator shall be responsible to solicit league sponsors to meet the league’s financial goals as budgeted.  He/She shall maintain a list of all league sponsors and be responsible for their official recognition.

 

WAYS & MEANS COORDINATOR
The Ways & Means Coordinator shall plan, coordinate and execute all aspects of the League’s annual fundraiser.  He/she shall evaluate different fundraising programs and make recommendations to the Board on best possible program that will deliver highest return to league. 

 

FIELD MAINTENANCE MANAGER
The Field Maintenance Manager shall coordinate all aspects of NTLL’s facility maintenance, to include field maintenance, coordination of weekly team field maintenance schedules, league equipment upkeep, and any other items required by our facility needs.


TEAM PARENT/PUBLICITY COORDINATOR
The Team Parent Coordinator facilitates the league’s annual Team Parent meeting (one date for the entire season).  He/she will serve as a liaison between the Team Parents and NTLL Board for the season.  Communicate issues to Team Parents throughout the baseball season. Creates and distributes the annual registration flyers that are sent via local schools, annual membership flyers, Board Election sign-up posters, etc.  He/she will obtain approval from TUSD for the distribution of flyers to the schools.


ADDITIONAL BOARD MEMBER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
Along with the above described duties, Board Members will be expected to attend monthly Board meetings and any Special meetings as necessary.  Board Members will help to ensure that all Little League and NTLL rules and regulations are followed.  Assist with registration, tryouts, field maintenance, Opening/Closing day activities, Allstar voting, Board Elections and assist with cooking in the Snack Bar as needed.
